M.&Mme is a unique furniture collection designed by artist Valentin Loellmann. Here is the concept behind his creations: The pieces that the designer makes have always developed from a curiosity; inquisitiveness towards materials, their travels and the stories they tell. With this project, he tried to use the stories of the materials in order to create new and strong narratives with them. The traces of oil and salt water in the bankirai wood that is used in the pieces presents nostalgia towards their previous lives as ship planks, but the old craftsmanship experienced within this material is provided with the distinct modern signature of the creator. If you look closely, you will notice a human element is added to the designs, which makes the “story” behind the creation more authentic.
